Tri Ton district will organize the Cultural, Sports and Tourism Festival of Khmer ethnic minorities in An Giang province in 2025.

On March 24, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism had a working session with the People's Committee of Tri Ton district on the implementation of a plan to coordinate the organization of the 14th Khmer Ethnic Minority Cultural, Sports and Tourism Festival in An Giang province in 2025.

The festival is scheduled to take place from April 10 to 12, right on the occasion of the traditional Chol Chnam Thmay New Year of the Khmer ethnic minority. The venue is Thai Quoc Hung Square (Tri Ton district), with 7 participating delegations from Tinh Bien town, Tri Ton district, Thoai Son, Chau Thanh, Chau Phu, Tri Ton Secondary School for Ethnic Minorities and An Giang Boarding Vocational College for Ethnic Minorities.

The festival's activities include: Mass arts festival with singing, dancing, modern music, theater, and folk music performances; traditional culinary culture festival; exhibition of ethnic cultural artifacts and pottery making experiences; sports activities and folk games...

The organization of the festival demonstrates the concern and care for the material and spiritual life of the Party Committee and the An Giang government towards ethnic minorities; helps artisans meet, exchange experiences, and demonstrate their talents in the fields of culture - arts, physical education and sports.

The activity also contributes to protecting and promoting the national cultural identity; arousing the potential, promoting the cultural characteristics, cuisine , and tourism products of the Khmer ethnic minority to tourists from all over the country. Thereby, building national solidarity, enhancing the enjoyment of culture and art, creating a joyful and exciting atmosphere for the Khmer ethnic minority to celebrate the traditional Chol Chnam Thmay New Year, welcoming the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South, National Reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025) and the 135th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's birthday (May 19, 1890 - May 19, 2025); encouraging the patriotic emulation movement among the ethnic groups of An Giang province, joining hands to build new rural areas and civilized urban areas.
