Tourists participate in forest planting under the guidance of indigenous Co Tu people.

The project will gradually replace existing acacia forests with native tree species, helping to restore native primary forest biodiversity, improve soil quality, protect water resources and minimize the impacts of climate change.

The project "Forest, Breathe!" will be divided into 4 phases with the goal of bringing forest tourism products, developing "Forest Planting Day" products for tourists, businesses can join hands to green the forests. From there, create a sustainable forestry economic model for the people, helping them gradually transform from acacia economy to forestry economic development - oriented towards economic exploitation under the forest canopy.

According to Mr. Huynh Tan Phap, the project will set aside 70 hectares of acacia forest to plant forest trees such as acacia and other small trees that live symbiotically under the forest canopy.

In addition to developing tourism under the forest canopy, the project will also pilot intercropping of short-term crops to create immediate income, encouraging people to change their farming methods from growing acacia trees to growing native trees.

"With the legality of the land fund secured and the funding of more than 2.5 billion VND secured, we will pilot the project on the first 10 hectares. The project will develop smoothly, ensuring sustainable livelihoods for the people," said Mr. Phap.

Toom Sara Cultural Village is located in the West of Da Nang City. Toom Sara is the name of the ancient land of the Co Tu people in Hoa Phu Commune. In the Co Tu language, "Toom" means stream and "sara" is the name of a type of flower. This place has been created by the People's Committee of Hoa Phu Commune and individuals dedicated to Co Tu culture to develop into an attractive tourist destination.
