Opening of the general training course on sustainable smart cities

On the morning of September 26, in Phan Thiet City, the Academy of Construction and Urban Management in collaboration with the Binh Thuan Department of Construction organized a training course on an overview of sustainable smart cities. Attending the training course were leaders of 2 units and more than 40 students who are leaders of departments, branches and localities under the province.

Accordingly, in 3 days (from September 26 to 28), the lecturers will introduce the system of legal documents, policies, and institutions. At the same time, they will present an overview and approach to smart cities; the content of the smart city development project. In addition, the students will be provided with an interconnected urban database on GIS and digital transformation of fields; digital transformation projects, building a planning and urban development management system for the provincial construction sector; related contents on resources for smart city development and infrastructure, smart urban utility services.

It is known that the training course belongs to the Project "Establishing a Vietnam - Korea Cooperation Center on Smart Cities and Construction Technology". The purpose is to make an important contribution to supporting the completion of institutions and laws on smart city development. At the same time, it will improve the capacity of policy-making agencies and management levels in localities.

According to the training course content, along with the development of information and communication technology, many countries in the world have succeeded in building smart urban models. Thereby, contributing to improving the quality of life, improving the quality of service of city authorities, reducing energy consumption, and enhancing the effective management of natural resources. In Vietnam, developing smart cities is one of the important driving forces to realize the goal of making Vietnam a modern, high-income industrialized country by 2045.
