Taking place from July 17-23, the tournament attracted more than 500 athletes from 32 units in 18 provinces and cities to compete in 6 categories of knowledge and skills in drowning prevention and 36 swimming categories for each age group. This year, the tournament has 6 age groups from 6 to 18 years old, competing in many swimming styles such as freestyle, breaststroke, backstroke, swimming and rescuing victims.

This is an annual activity that contributes to the development of swimming, diving, safety skills, and drowning prevention skills for children and the community; thereby helping children practice perseverance with sports, preparing for their future journey of "where there's a will, there's a way".

The tournament is also one of many accompanying and inspiring sports activities that Nestlé MILO actively responds to within the framework of the Dynamic Vietnam program, joining hands in many sports playgrounds as a sponsor for the tournament.

Through the tournament, youth, athletes and students nationwide will have the opportunity to exchange and learn about drowning rescue skills and drowning prevention. At the same time, the tournament also contributes to discovering, selecting and nurturing excellent athletes with swimming talent for the locality and the country.

Sharing at the opening ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Anh, Head of the Department of Sports for All, Department of Sports and Physical Training, Head of the Organizing Committee of the tournament said: "To reduce the situation of drowning in children, in the past time, the Department of Sports and Physical Training has coordinated with related units to implement many activities to raise awareness and train children in drowning prevention and control skills.
