On the afternoon of June 16, to celebrate the 98th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day (June 21, 1925 - June 21, 2023), the Thanh Hoa Provincial Journalists Association held the opening ceremony of the 6th Thanh Hoa Journalists Football Tournament - East Asia Cup 2023.
On behalf of the provincial leaders, representatives of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department, Department of Information and Communications, and Provincial People's Committee Office presented flowers to congratulate the organizing committee of the award.
Attending the opening ceremony were leaders of provincial departments, branches and sectors; Provincial Business Association; Thanh Hoa Football Federation; sponsors; representatives of central and provincial news agencies, newspapers and radio stations of Thanh Hoa province, along with many athletes and coaches participating in the tournament.

More than 100 athletes from 5 teams competed in the tournament.
The 6th Thanh Hoa Journalists Football Tournament - East Asia Cup 2023 brings together more than 100 athletes from 5 teams, including: Thanh Hoa Newspaper, Thanh Hoa Radio and Television Station, Central Press Agencies Association in Thanh Hoa and the Joint Force of the Department of Information and Communications - Provincial Party Committee Office - Provincial People's Committee Office and Thanh Hoa Journalists Club in Hanoi .
Comrade Pham Van Bau, Provincial Party Committee member, Director of Thanh Hoa Radio and Television Station, Chairman of Thanh Hoa Provincial Journalists Association, Head of the Organizing Committee of the award delivered the opening speech.
The teams compete in a round-robin format to calculate points and rank. The matches are applied to the 7-a-side Football Law of the General Department of Sports and Physical Training, taking place at the artificial turf field cluster of the Viet Hung Football Training Center, managed by the referee team of the Thanh Hoa Football Federation.
Leaders, delegates and organizers presented souvenir flags to the teams participating in the tournament.
At the end of each round, the Organizing Committee will award trophies, medals, and prizes to the champions, second-place and third-place teams. In addition, the Organizing Committee will also award fourth-place prizes; individual prizes include: Top scorer, best player and goalkeeper of the tournament.
After the opening ceremony, the teams entered the first series of matches with attractive matches and enthusiastic cheers from fans who are journalists in Thanh Hoa province.
The tournament will end on the afternoon of June 18 with the closing ceremony and awards ceremony.
The opening match took place between Thanh Hoa Newspaper team (blue shirt) and the joint team of Department of Information and Communications - Provincial Party Committee Office - Provincial People's Committee Office.
The 6th Thanh Hoa Journalists Football Tournament - East Asia Cup 2023 is a traditional playground held annually, an opportunity to exchange and strengthen the close relationship between the team of journalists in the province, thereby constantly improving health, serving better on the cultural and ideological front. This is also an active activity in response to the Campaign "All people exercise following the example of great Uncle Ho", promoting the sports movement of journalists in the province.
