Traveling to Tristan da Cunha is an adventure. First, you fly into Cape Town, South Africa. From there, you take a boat, as there is no airport on the island.
The island offers spectacular hiking, especially around Queen Mary Peak – the island's volcanic peak which rises to 2,062m.
Due to its extremely remote location and lack of hospital facilities, Tristan da Cunha received medical supplies by supply ship, usually from England or South Africa.
Internet access is limited and expensive, so the island is pretty cut off from the digital world. To reach this volcanic island, you have to travel many nautical miles across the deserted ocean.
