Inauguration of traffic bridge built with philanthropist's contribution

(CT) - On the afternoon of June 20, the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Binh Thuy District and Long Tuyen Ward held an inauguration ceremony to put into use the Kim Bao Bridge in Binh Pho A area, Long Tuyen Ward, to facilitate people's travel and trade of goods.

Local authorities and philanthropists performed the ribbon-cutting ceremony to inaugurate Kim Bao Bridge in Long Tuyen Ward.

The bridge is 16.2m long, 3m wide, built with reinforced concrete, with a total cost of 209 million VND, of which, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Binh Thuy district mobilized through monk Thich Chon Tinh, at Thuong Quang Pagoda, District 8, Ho Chi Minh City, mobilized Mr. and Mrs. Nguyen Kim Bao's family (in the United States) to sponsor 160 million VND; the remaining 49 million VND was mobilized from local people. This is a project registered by the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Binh Thuy district to welcome the Congress of Party Delegates at all levels, term 2025-2030.

On this occasion, Venerable Thich Chon Tinh mobilized benefactors to donate 50 gifts, each worth 500,000 VND. Of these, 30 gifts were given to near-poor households, including rice, instant noodles, necessities and 200,000 VND in cash; 20 gifts were given to students in difficult circumstances, including: notebooks, pens and 200,000 VND in cash.
