Visitors to the multi-sensory exhibition “Under the color of smoke, there is the color of flowers”.
Evoking Emotions Through Multi-Sensory Exhibitions
Recently, on July 22, a multi-sensory exhibition by a group of students: Lai My Duyen, Au Kim Thuong, Le Ly Thien Ngan, Hua Hinh Thuan and Le Doan Tuyet Xuan, helped attendees directly interact with mascot Tieu Can Cu (the symbolic character for the Sokfarm coconut nectar brand) through AR filter, enjoy the sweet taste of Sokfarm coconut nectar, admire Southern Khmer costumes and listen to pentatonic music...
The exhibition helps viewers connect cultural and economic values, as the group signed and handed over communication products to Sokfarm enterprise in Tra Vinh (old), including the mascot "Tieu Can Cu" and accompanying communication materials.
Previously, the multi-sensory exhibition “Under the color of smoke, there is the color of flowers” was carried out by a group of students Pham Nhat An, Lam Nguyen Thuy Vy, Nguyen Truc Di, Le Thi Kim Chi and Nguyen Ngoc Ngan; with the advice of the Association of Resistance Prisoners of Can Tho City, the support of Can Tho City Museum, aiming to apply communication and technology knowledge to honor the historical value and promote the Can Tho Prison Relic.
Mr. Pham Ngoc Hung, a former Can Tho special forces soldier, was arrested at the age of 18 and imprisoned in the Big Prison for more than 3 years, shared: “I really appreciate the hearts of the students for remembering the revolutionary history and the previous generations to recreate the Can Tho Big Prison like this. They have prepared very meticulously and elaborately for this exhibition.”
As for Ms. Nguyen Thi Nam, alias Hai Ly, a liaison in Tra Vinh, in 1960 she was withdrawn to Can Tho to work in the Special Forces, then arrested and sent to the Big Prison. She was impressed by the stories of mothers who gave birth and raised their children in prison when she saw the exhibition, because her image was in it. She recounted: “When I was arrested, I was 9 months pregnant, and after a few days in prison I gave birth to a daughter. I was released after 1 year in prison. Seeing the exhibition, I remembered the past, and saw that the strength that helped me overcome those difficult years was the revolutionary ideal, for the cause of national liberation.”
There is also a multi-sensory exhibition “The Creator of the Country’s Shape” by a group of students Ly Thanh Van, Tran Huynh Diem Trinh, Truong Kieu Diem and Nguyen Gia Huy; honoring Vietnamese women in the resistance war against colonialism and imperialism from 1945 to 1975. The exhibition demonstrates the four qualities of Vietnamese women “Heroic - Indomitable - Loyal - Responsible” through historical stories, relics, documents and experiential activities.
The above exhibitions are like students' gratitude to the previous generation who sacrificed for the peace of the country, while also responding to the nation's major holidays, thereby contributing to spreading the message: "Contribute a story, give a memory and spread a spirit".
Spreading cultural beauty through art programs
The program "Vietnamese Traditional Costume" with the theme: "Wearing traditional costumes - Touching heritage, living identity" is an event combining the performance of traditional costumes of the Nguyen Dynasty and contemporary art. Tran Thi Anh Tuyet, representing the members of the group (Tang Hoang Loc, Quach Phu Vinh, Nguyen Thuy Tien, Ho Thi Ngoc Dieu), shared: "Our group coordinated with the Department of Traditional Musical Instruments and clubs at the school such as F-VOICE, F-FoxC, F-BIZ to perform an art performance connecting the past with the present through costumes". The audience enjoyed the performance of traditional costumes - modernized costumes, traditional musical instrument ensembles, contemporary dance and modern folk music...
With the program “Nam Phuong Nocturne - AI Bridge of Heritage to the Future”, the audience has the opportunity to enjoy Don Ca Tai Tu with a new way of leading, summarizing the formation and development process of this traditional art. The program performs the following items: traditional musical instrument ensemble, “Da Co Hoai Lang”, traditional songs... with the application of AI (artificial intelligence) in coordinating, presenting, and hosting the program; combining traditional martial arts performances, physical drama, multi-generational choir... Interspersed with the items are documentaries shown on the LED screen.
Nguyen Kieu Nhung, the leader of the student group implementing the program, shared: “With creativity and innovation in approach and transmission, we hope to contribute to spreading traditional artistic values, hoping that everyone will work together to preserve and promote Don Ca Tai Tu in many more interesting forms.”
