The land at the foot of Lang Biang mountain formerly belonged to Lac Duong district (old), Lam Dong province, where many indigenous Co Ho people live.

From July 1, 2025, this is Lang Biang Ward - Da Lat on the basis of merging Lac Duong town, Lat commune (Lac Duong district) and Ward 7 (Da Lat city), creating a new, large and potential development space.

Lang Biang Ward - Da Lat has a natural area of over 322 km², a population of over 40,000 people, of which nearly 25% are ethnic minorities. With a large area, diverse natural and social conditions, and a high forest coverage rate in the country, the locality has favorable conditions to develop forest economy , high-tech agriculture, and eco-tourism associated with the unique culture of indigenous ethnic minorities. Secretary of the Ward Party Committee Tran Thi Chuc Quynh said that the merger of the lands at the foot of the legendary Lang Biang and the neighboring ward of Da Lat has opened up a space for development with great potential. This is an opportunity for the ward to take advantage of the merged localities, plan more modern development, promote the urbanization process associated with improving the quality of life of the people, and contribute positively to the overall development of the province.

Currently, the whole ward has more than 10,000 hectares of agricultural land, of which nearly 2,000 hectares are high-tech agricultural land ; the average value of harvested products is more than 716 million VND/ha/year. What is quite special is that the land at the foot of Lang Biang mountain is the first place in Lam Dong (old) to put into use the OCOP product introduction center. The area has also established an OCOP club, a business coffee space - a meeting place for businesses in the area, with the purpose of exchanging and connecting with local authorities to exchange information and share experiences in the production and business process.

Lang Biang Ward - Da Lat is also considered the "capital" of roses in Lam Dong province with more than 720 hectares, an average annual output of about 1.2 million branches/ha, revenue from 1.8 - 2 billion VND/ha/year. Mr. Pang Tin Sin's family in Bon Dung 1 residential group is one of the successful ethnic minority farmers in the rose village at the foot of Lang Biang mountain.
