Nam Phu Yen Economic Zone wants to attract petrochemical and metallurgical enterprises

On the morning of November 7, Phu Yen People's Committee held a ceremony to announce the adjustment of the General Construction Plan for Nam Phu Yen Economic Zone to 2040.

Mr. Nguyen Xuan Hung, Head of the Phu Yen Economic Zone Management Board, said that with the recently approved decision, the Nam Phu Yen Economic Zone will have an area of over 20,700 hectares, bordering the Da Rang River to the north, Van Ninh district (Khanh Hoa) to the south, the East Sea to the east and the North-South expressway corridor to the west.

According to Mr. Hung, the planning adjustment helps build the Nam Phu Yen Economic Zone in accordance with the national marine development strategy and Vietnam's marine economic development strategy.

In the future, Nam Phu Yen Economic Zone is oriented to build and develop into a multi-industry, multi-functional economic zone with a focus on high-tech industries, industries associated with promoting the advantages of seaports, focusing on attracting petrochemical, metallurgical, energy industries...

South Phu Yen will become a national and regional service and tourism center; create a breakthrough in socio-economic development in the South Central region, creating development links between the provinces of the South Central Coast and the Central Highlands.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Ta Anh Tuan, Chairman of Phu Yen Provincial People's Committee, said that Nam Phu Yen Economic Zone is one of the eight key coastal economic zones of the country. It has a favorable geographical location and natural conditions to become one of the important industrial and seaport centers of the South Central Coast and Central Highlands, combined with Van Phong Economic Zone, Khanh Hoa province to form the large-scale Nam Phu Yen - North Khanh Hoa Economic Zone.

Mr. Tuan acknowledged that the project to adjust the South Phu Yen Economic Zone Planning, which has just been approved by the Prime Minister, is an important legal basis for the province to remove bottlenecks and limitations in the past.

In addition, the Nam Phu Yen New Economic Zone meets the needs of investment development according to new trends, attracts large investors, promotes investment in the fields of metallurgy, petrochemical refining, industrial parks, helping the locality develop.

Mr. Tuan also expressed that the locality opens its doors to welcome domestic and foreign businesses and investors to seek investment opportunities, especially in areas where the province has potential and advantages.

"Investors will be given the most favorable conditions to successfully implement the project and ensure sustainable development in the future, with the motto that the success of investors and businesses is the success of Phu Yen," said Mr. Tuan.
