Remittances from Ho Chi Minh City account for more than 55% of the country.

In the first quarter of 2023, remittances to Ho Chi Minh City reached 2.119 billion USD, an increase of 19.41% compared to the first quarter of 2022.

Remittances are a source of foreign currency, with the nature of being a source of income, accumulation, and savings of overseas Vietnamese and Vietnamese workers sent back to and given to their relatives. Therefore, the benefits in use, spending, investment, and business bring about efficiency and a big difference compared to other foreign currency sources (loans, investment capital, and funding...) in terms of usage costs and conditions of use. To continue attracting remittances in the coming time, it is necessary to continue to improve the investment environment, attract capital sources, attract remittances to invest in production and business development, especially in the fields of health, education, culture, technology; develop green economy ... At the same time, continue to perfect policies and effectively develop the remittance service network system in Ho Chi Minh City.
