Terrifying moment super typhoon Bebinca made landfall in Shanghai.
According to Chinese media, Typhoon Bebinca with maximum wind speeds of up to 151 km/h made landfall in Shanghai, a city of nearly 25 million people, at around 7:30 a.m. (local time). This is the strongest storm to hit Shanghai since Typhoon Gloria in 1949.
Footage circulating online showed the storm bringing strong winds that left pedestrians struggling to keep their balance, uprooting trees, blowing out windows of high-rise buildings and ripping off corrugated iron roofs, which fell onto the streets, damaging passing vehicles and severely disrupting daily life.

Since the night of September 15, hundreds of flights have been canceled at the city's two airports, and some rail services at Shanghai Railway Station have also been suspended. Thousands of residents have also been evacuated to temporary shelters for safety.
As of 12:30 p.m. on September 16, according to initial statistics, the storm had injured one person, uprooted or broken more than 10,000 trees, caused 153 power outages, damaged many buildings, and flooded large areas of agricultural land.
