On the afternoon of June 22, Lam Dong province organized a meeting and dialogue with more than 30 investment enterprises in the province.
At the meeting, businesses raised opinions, difficulties and problems focusing on the fields of land, minerals and tourism .
Mr. Nguyen Tuan Vuong, Director of Tuan Vuong 68 Company Limited (Da Don Commune, Lam Ha District), said that according to regulations, mineral mines are licensed every 5 years, but currently the company is only allowed to use 2 out of the total 137 hectares licensed due to procedural problems, while the business has been waiting for the past 18 months but has not been resolved.
Ms. Bui Huong Nhi, representative of Green Energy Company Limited, the investor of Xuan Truong Solid Waste Treatment Plant, Da Lat City, raised the difficulty: Since May 2024, Da Lat City People's Committee has temporarily suspended payment for waste treatment, but it is not clear on what basis. When implementing the project, Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee promised to build a road from National Highway 20 to the factory (about 1km) but has not done so, while the project has been operating for more than 10 years. Mr. Dang Quang Tu, Chairman of Da Lat City People's Committee, said that the locality is reviewing regulations on waste treatment prices, and will first study advances for the factory to continue operating.
Mr. Vo Ngoc Hiep, Vice Chairman of Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee, affirmed that he will focus on directing departments and branches to focus on solving difficulties based on legal regulations. The government will receive and work with each specific enterprise to review, handle and adjust according to current regulations of the new laws.
At the meeting, Acting Secretary of Lam Dong Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Thai Hoc requested the Provincial People's Committee to consider and resolve cases of delay in putting land into use within June 2024. The existing problems and difficulties of enterprises are partly the responsibility of the authorities at all levels, including the slow consideration of legitimate proposals of enterprises.
Comrade Nguyen Thai Hoc frankly said that slow resolution causes damage to businesses, the longer the delay, the greater the damage. There is currently a situation of evasion and shirking of responsibility among some officials after some officials were disciplined for violations in the past. Therefore, investors need to promptly report the situation of officials harassing and not following regulations so that the provincial leaders can handle it seriously.
