On December 21, the Danang Investment Promotion and Support Board - IPA Danang in collaboration with the International Research Institute for Artificial Intelligence and Data Science, Dong A University organized an international conference on the topic "Responsible artificial intelligence and applications in the integrated circuit industry, manufacturing and healthcare".
The conference took place in a combination of face-to-face and online formats at Vietnamese and international locations. Of which, 10 thematic reports were presented by experts from 7 countries around the world : the United States, France, Belgium, the United Kingdom, Germany, China and Vietnam.
At the same time, the workshop also had the participation of AI enterprises in Vietnam, scholars from research institutes, university lecturers, and students from faculties specializing in Artificial Intelligence and Data Science (AI&DS).

Master Le Hoang Phuc, Deputy Director of the Danang Investment Promotion and Support Board, said that Danang city has many advantages to develop the artificial intelligence, microchip, and semiconductor industries. The city has strong infrastructure with Tien Sa seaport, Lien Chieu seaport under completion, international airport, FPT Complex, High-tech Park, Danang It Park, etc.
Da Nang City has many universities that train high-quality human resources. Every year, about 1,000 engineers graduate with majors in telecommunications engineering, information technology, computer engineering, mechatronic engineering, control engineering and automation, etc.
The conference took place in both in-person and online formats at Vietnamese and international locations. Of which, 10 thematic reports were presented by experts from 7 countries around the world: the United States, France, Belgium, the United Kingdom, Germany, China and Vietnam.
The leaders of Da Nang city are also determined to develop artificial intelligence, microchips and semiconductors. At the same time, Da Nang city has had and will have preferential policies to attract investment in this field.
In particular, it is expected that by 2024, the city will develop its own strategy to develop human resources for the industrial and semiconductor sectors. In addition, Da Nang city also has a peaceful life, with not too high costs...
According to Mr. Le Hoang Phuc, Da Nang city fully meets the requirements and has many resources to become a place to develop the fields of artificial intelligence, microchips, and semiconductors in the future.
In addition, Ms. Nguyen Thi Anh Dao, President of Dong A University, commented: “Along with the great opportunities and potential that artificial intelligence (AI) algorithms bring in reshaping industries and opening the door to unprecedented efficiency, precision and capabilities, AI also poses significant challenges for society.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Anh Dao raised the issue of ensuring responsibility so that artificial intelligence is not abused for bad purposes.
It is necessary to ensure that AI is not abused for malicious purposes and does not threaten human privacy and safety. Therefore, the development of AI needs to be tightly controlled by regulations on data governance, ethics, transparency and responsible deployment of AI."
Chaired by leading professors in the field of Artificial Intelligence and Data Science, the conference included both general and in-depth analyses of responsible applications of artificial intelligence in three areas: integrated circuit industry, manufacturing, and healthcare, from which recommendations and policy proposals were discussed to guide the development of AI in the new era.
