Spread across 8 districts and cities, Lang Son Geopark has a rich system of paleontological fossils showing the history of life for hundreds of millions of years, with the furthest point being 500 million years ago. Lang Son Geopark also has famous landscapes such as low, overlapping rocky mountains surrounding valleys and villages in Yen Thinh commune (Huu Lung district) or caves that were home to prehistoric people such as Tham Khuyen cave (Binh Gia district)...
Lang Son province has built 3 information centers; installed a system of interpretive signs at heritage sites throughout the Geopark; built a network of partners who are service providers in the Geopark; organized protection zones for geological and fossil heritage sites...
Mr. Dang Ngoc An - Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Lang Son province affirmed that propaganda work is very important to raise awareness about the role and significance of geological heritages, cultural heritages, biodiversity, and forest ecosystems in Lang Son Geopark.
“The goal of achieving the title of Global Geopark is the most important content of the Project to establish, build and develop Lang Son Geopark in the period of 2021-2025. First of all, it is an affirmation of the potential and values of international stature in terms of geological heritage, cultural heritage and natural landscapes... From there, we will focus on promoting and attracting investment resources to build tourism products commensurate with the potential and value of a Global Geopark,” said Mr. Dang Ngoc An.
