This year, Lao Cai has 2 students exempted from the high school graduation exam, both are students of Lao Cai Province High School for the Gifted. They are Vu Nam Hai - a 12th grade Math - IT student and Le Thanh Trung - a 12th grade Math student.
At the national excellent student exam for the 2023-2024 school year, Vu Nam Hai won first prize in Information Technology and was selected to join the Vietnamese team to compete in regional and international Olympics; Le Thanh Trung won second prize in Mathematics and was selected to compete in the regional and international Olympic team selection exam.
According to regulations, students who are exempted from the high school graduation exam and are directly admitted to university must still register for direct admission to their desired schools, no later than June 30.
