On the morning of March 1, in Quang Duc commune, Hai Ha district, the 2025 Song Mun Festival took place and the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism announced the Decision of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism on the list of national intangible cultural heritage for the "Cultivation Ceremony of the Dao Thanh Y people".

The traditional Song Mun Festival is held at the beginning of the new year in the villages of the Dao Thanh Y ethnic group in Hai Ha district. This year, the festival is held on March 1 and 2 with many traditional rituals praying for peace and luck through the gathering, solidarity, joint efforts, and contributions of offerings by the villagers; sending the most prestigious representative of the village to the village temple to worship, pray for peace, luck, favorable weather, bountiful harvests, and a harmonious and happy life.

The festival takes place with many attractive activities such as: Highland market, folk art club festival, Dao Thanh Y women's hairdressing contest, ethnic cuisine contest, ethnic costume performance contest, pandan cake wrapping contest, leaf trumpet playing contest, singing exchange, bamboo pole dancing. Along with that are the activities of competing in ethnic sports : Pushing sticks, Tug of war for ethnic minority women and bridge crossing games, blindfolded duck catching, throwing balls...

This year's Song Mun Festival is associated with the ceremony to receive the National Intangible Cultural Heritage for the social custom of the Dao Thanh Y. For a long time, the Coming of Age Ceremony has been a unique social custom created by the Dao Thanh Y and has been preserved and promoted for many generations.

The Coming of Age Ceremony, also known as the naming ceremony, is held for Dao Thanh Y boys to be recorded in the family genealogy before they are considered adults. The Coming of Age Ceremony is always respected and preserved by the whole community, both expressing the beauty and cultural values, national spirit, expressing spiritual beliefs, and promoting the unique cultural identity of the Dao Thanh Y people, contributing to building an advanced culture with strong national identity. The Coming of Age Ceremony of the Dao Thanh Y people in Quang Ninh province was recognized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism as a National Intangible Cultural Heritage on December 10, 2024.
