Loc Ha mobilized 450 people to extinguish forest fire on Hong Linh mountain

About 450 police officers, soldiers , border guards, forest rangers, officials and people in Hong Loc commune, Loc Ha district (Ha Tinh) participated in fighting the forest fire. The fire was completely controlled after 4 hours.

A large fire broke out in a regenerating acacia and eucalyptus forest area in Hong Loc.

At 12:30 on May 31, a forest fire broke out in the Doong No area, Thuong Phu village, Hong Loc commune. This is the 3-4 year old acacia forest area of Mr. Tran Van Dung (Thuong Phu village) and the community's regenerated eucalyptus forest area.

Immediately after discovering the forest fire, the local government quickly notified and mobilized 150 people, including commune officials and residents of Thuong Phu village and neighboring areas, to prevent the fire. Along with that, the commune requested to mobilize reinforcements from the district to support.

Chairman of Loc Ha District People's Committee Nguyen Viet Hung (in shirt) was present at the scene to grasp the situation and direct and mobilize rescue forces.

To extinguish the fire, the District Police, Cua Sot Border Guard Station, District Military Command, District Forest Protection Department and other supporting forces quickly mobilized about 300 people with full equipment and vehicles to participate in fire fighting.

Although the fire was located at a high position, with strong winds, dry air, complex terrain, and thick vegetation... the firefighting forces actively participated and arranged appropriate personnel, so the fire was completely controlled at 4:30 p.m. The rescue work was carried out synchronously, promptly, effectively, and ensured safety in all aspects.

After 4 hours of fire fighting, the forest fire was controlled.

According to initial information provided by people participating in the firefighting, this forest fire occurred on a scale of more than 14 hectares of acacia and eucalyptus forests. The fire did not cause serious damage to the forest, and the burned areas can soon recover.

Currently, authorities are counting the area, protecting the scene, investigating the cause and sending guards to prevent the fire from re-igniting.
