Before the news that 28/29 students of class 9A of Hanoi - Amsterdam High School for the Gifted were admitted to specialized math, IT, physics, and chemistry classes of the High School for the Gifted in Natural Sciences , many people asked questions about the only remaining student.
According to Mr. Thang, the only student who did not take the entrance exam to the High School for the Gifted in Natural Sciences was because he wanted to take the entrance exam to the Mathematics major of the High School for the Gifted in the University of Education. His name is Nguyen Dang Minh.
Dang Minh's house is not near the High School for the Gifted in Natural Sciences, so from the beginning, the male student and his family had other more suitable choices.

In the entrance exam to grade 10 of the University of Education High School for the Gifted, Minh scored 9 points in the general math test and 8.5 points in the specialized math test. His total admission score was 26 points, exceeding the admission standard by 6 points. He was in the group of 10 students who received an entrance scholarship for the specialized math block.
Thus, 100% of class 9A of Hanoi - Amsterdam High School for the Gifted have passed the entrance exams to specialized schools. At this point, Mr. Thang feels satisfied because he has fulfilled his duties as a homeroom teacher for class 9A.
Teacher Thang said that recently, both he and his student Dang Minh had to explain many times why Minh was the only student in class 9A who "failed" to enter the High School for the Gifted in Natural Sciences. In fact, Dang Minh "failed" simply because he... did not take the exam, due to other wishes.
As the homeroom teacher of a math class with all students being excellent, competitive, and eager to learn and prove themselves in competitions for gifted students, Mr. Thang always focuses on helping students understand healthy competition.
To avoid the fierce competition that damages student friendships, Mr. Thang always reminds his students: "When you step out into the big world, you will have to face many big opponents.
So, while we are still studying together in this same class, let's love each other, work hard to study and improve together to achieve success. Let's build a united collective and together achieve that goal."
Now that the 9A class's 10th grade entrance exam results are "perfect", Mr. Thang said he feels secure to continue to focus on the students of the next class. He wishes the 9A class students of the 2021-2025 school year to focus on studying and practicing during their high school years, to prepare for upcoming plans and projects.
