The Korean newspaper also gave much praise to the natural beauty of the pearl island when more than half of the island is protected by UNESCO as a world biosphere reserve. The 150 km long coastline with gentle waves, clear blue water like jade, "perfect for relaxing and many sea sports". For local experiences, Lee Chae-hyeon suggests visiting Dinh Cau, a temple built on a small rocky shore by the sea. Phu Quoc fishermen come here twice a month to pray for safe sailing.
