According to AP, Mexico's National Water Commission and the Mayor of Mexico City have issued strict water restrictions.

Unusually low rainfall has pushed the Cutzamala system, a network of three reservoirs serving more than 20 million people in the Valley of Mexico, to a historic seasonal low. Water levels are 44% lower than at this time in previous years. Water restrictions have been increased from 8%, imposed on October 17, to 25% of the Cutzamala system’s total flow.

Officials said 12 districts (mostly in the city's west) will likely experience lower water pressure until restrictions are lifted. The past 12 months have been the hottest on record, according to climate change monitoring groups.
