(NLDO)- From March 2025, direct flights from 11 cities of the Russian Federation to Nha Trang will reconnect after many years of interruption.

Anex Vietnam Trading and Tourism Company Limited (Anex Vietnam) - the unit that welcomes Russian tourists to Nha Trang City, Khanh Hoa Province - said it will officially reopen charter flights connecting 11 cities of the Russian Federation with Nha Trang from March 16.

This marks the strong return of the Russian tourism market in Vietnam, and at the same time contributes to promoting the recovery and development of the international tourism industry in Nha Trang - Khanh Hoa .

Anex Vietnam Company has cooperated with Azur Air LLC (under Anex Tour Group) to transport more than 1.17 million international visitors to Vietnam from 2013 to the end of 2019.

Due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic (2021-2022) and the Russia-Ukraine conflict, there are very few direct flights from Russia to Khanh Hoa. The Russian government recommends that airlines limit flights abroad after the US and Western countries issued sanctions.

Therefore, from October 2022, Anex Vietnam will cooperate with Vietjet to expand its operations to the markets of Kazakhstan and the former Soviet Union, with a frequency of 6 flights/week from Almaty and Astana to Cam Ranh.

In 2024, Anex Vietnam welcomed 46,348 visitors from the former Soviet Union to Khanh Hoa for tourism and relaxation.

Russian tourists must pass through former Soviet Union countries to travel to Nha Trang from 2022 to the end of February 2025.

In order to restore and expand the international tourism market, from March 16, 2025, Anex Vietnam said it will officially resume charter flights to 11 Russian cities to Cam Ranh International Airport, Khanh Hoa province.

The company will also expand flights to Phu Quoc, offering more attractive options for Russian tourists to Vietnam.

Flights will be operated by Azur Air LLC, using a fleet of Boeing 757, Boeing 767 and Boeing 777 aircraft.

The 11 Russian cities listed above include: Moscow, Ekaterinburg, Khabarovsk, Vladivostok, Barnaul, Krasnoyarsk, Novosibirsk, Irkutsk, Tomsk, Novokuznetsk, Blagoveshchensk.

The operating frequency in March 2025 is 12 trips/month; from April to June 2025 it is 50 - 55 trips/month; from July 2025 onwards it will increase to 90 - 100 trips/month.
