The desire for development always motivates businesses to innovate, expand production every day, and grasp new technology in the agricultural sector. 5 years ago, An Giang Fruit and Vegetable Food Joint Stock Company (Antesco) built a closed value chain from production to processing and exporting key products (baby corn, soybeans). The company cooperated with the Department of Agriculture and Environment and the Provincial Farmers' Association to sign an agreement to develop export-standard growing areas, with a linked agricultural area of more than 10,000 hectares across the province.
Antesco General Director Nguyen Hoang Minh said: “We have taken steps to prepare for Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW on breakthroughs in science, technology, innovation and national digital transformation; Resolution No. 68-NQ/TW on private economic development of the Politburo . Currently, the company operates 4 factories, 12 production lines, achieving a productivity of 75,000 tons/year, 180 export containers/month. At the same time, we are improving technological processes, investing 25 million USD to build factories, modern technology; 100% of factories apply electronic traceability; with 25 cold storages, large-capacity freezers to optimally preserve products”. Mr. Minh hopes to have a more open support mechanism for the company to build a factory to process waste into organic fertilizer, supplying it back to the growing area.

According to Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Le Minh Hoan, in the journey of "putting Vietnamese agricultural products on the world map", farmers must be at the center. At the same time, he emphasized that businesses need to be ready to seize opportunities from Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW and Resolution No. 68-NQ/TW to "pivot" effectively, optimizing existing values. "Enterprises exporting billions of USD still pay attention to farmers' income. This income must be quantified specifically each year, to prove that, when linking with businesses, farmers benefit a lot. Do not use the word "consumption" as before, but must use "linkage", support machinery for farmers, clearly demonstrating the role of the private economy , through creating for farmers, implementing rural economy", comrade Le Minh Hoan shared.
Comrade Le Minh Hoan suggested ways for businesses to closely connect with farmers: Honor them in communication campaigns, incorporate images of farmers into promotional videos, open small meeting halls in the middle of the fields so that farmers can feel the care or simply send documents on health and production techniques regularly. That is how businesses not only sell products but also sell brands, sell trust and a culture of connection.
A typical example is Mr. Dao Van Hung, a young farmer in Binh Giang commune, who is cultivating 70 hectares of rice under a joint venture model. Mr. Giang said: “Previously, we followed the old way, planting and then doing as we go. Now we are participating in the Project for sustainable development of 1 million hectares of high-quality and low-emission rice in the Mekong Delta by 2030, with agricultural products meeting the strict requirements of markets such as Europe, the US, and Japan, with a value of 3-5 million VND/acre higher. Seeing the effectiveness, we are willing to change our thinking and cooperate with businesses long-term.”
To realize big dreams, it is necessary to “green” production, aiming for sustainable enrichment. All processes need to be closed, circular, minimizing waste, protecting resources and the environment. Every part of the plant from the stem, leaves to roots must be utilized effectively.
The Vice Chairman of the National Assembly also suggested a new direction for businesses: Combining agriculture with tourism. For example, linking with travel agencies, organizing experiential tours such as grilling shrimp on the spot, visiting durian or organic rice growing areas. Although the revenue is not large, the communication effectiveness, brand positioning and trust that customers receive are very high. This is also a way to create jobs for local workers, helping them stay attached to their homeland. "Innovation is a vital factor. Agriculture still has a lot of room to break through. Dream higher, further and turn those dreams into development motivation in practice", comrade Le Minh Hoan confided.
