A Middle Eastern country calls for reform of the Security Council, condemns Israel's actions in the region.

Kuwaiti Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah stressed on September 26 that the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) needs to be reformed to "reflect the realities of the modern world " and deal with current and future challenges.

According to Sheikh Sabah, maintaining the effectiveness of the UN is extremely important, especially in the context of escalating global crises.

Sheikh Sabah said global challenges such as conflict, inequality and financial instability require "creative and collective" solutions from key international organizations, including the UN. Kuwait believes in the role of a more representative and democratic Security Council.

Reaffirming his unwavering support for the Palestinian people and their struggle for an independent state, he also condemned Israel's military actions in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank.

The Crown Prince called on the international community to assume responsibility and end Israel's illegal actions in the territories in conflict with Palestine, saying that Tel Aviv's military moves against Lebanon destabilize the entire region and disregard international law.

Appreciating Saudi Arabia's role in alleviating the humanitarian crisis in Syria, Libya, especially Yemen, he expressed his belief that the efforts of the Saudi-led coalition will pave the way for a political solution to ensure security and stability in Yemen.

Regarding the issue of Iran, calling on Tehran to respect international law and the sovereignty of neighboring countries in the region, Sheikh Sabah also emphasized that peaceful relations between Middle Eastern countries are an important factor for stability here.

“Kuwait fully supports the international community's efforts to address concerns regarding Iran's nuclear program,” the Kuwaiti Crown Prince said.
