Việt NamViệt Nam29/07/2024

Export activities are growing strongly again in most important industries and key markets. For example, the US market, exports in the first half of the year increased by 10.7 billion USD compared to last year; the European Union increased by 3.3 billion USD. According to the General Department of Customs, if the results achieved in the first half of the year are maintained, the country's export turnover could set a new record of 380 billion USD.

Statistics just released by the General Department of Customs show that in the first half of July, export Vietnam's export value reached 16.2 billion USD, bringing the export value from the beginning of the year to this point to more than 207 billion USD, an increase of more than 4.3% over the same period last year.

Contribute to export turnover Nationwide, there are 5 groups of goods with turnover increasing by over 1 billion USD. Leading the way is the group of computers, electronic products and components with turnover reaching 33.6 billion USD (up 8.07 billion USD). Next is the group of machinery, equipment, tools and spare parts reaching 23.1 billion USD (up 3.42 billion USD). Phones of all kinds and components reached 27.1 billion USD (up 2.7 billion USD). Wood and wood products reached nearly 7.5 billion USD (up 1.41 billion USD). Cameras, camcorders and components reached 4.03 billion USD (up 1.36 billion USD).

The additional turnover of these 5 groups of goods alone reached nearly 17 billion USD, equal to 68.5% of the country's total export turnover increase.

If the export growth momentum is maintained, it is likely that the country's export turnover will exceed the record mark of 380 billion USD this year.

In the first half of this year, there were 6 export markets (market groups) with an increase in turnover of 1 billion USD or more, including: the US increased by 10.7 billion USD; the European Union (EU) increased by 3.3 billion USD; China increased by 1.6 billion USD; ASEAN increased by 2 billion USD; Hong Kong (China) increased by 1.8 billion USD; South Korea increased by 1.1 billion USD.

Growth increased strongly in both FDI and domestic enterprises. Of which, exports of FDI enterprises reached 136.8 billion USD, up 13.2% (equivalent to an increase of 16 billion USD). Exports of domestic enterprises reached nearly 54 billion USD, up 19.3% (equivalent to an increase of 8.74 billion USD).

According to According to the General Department of Customs, since the beginning of the year, many major export markets have gradually recovered, overcoming the recession period, increasing demand for goods, causing orders to return to businesses more strongly. Vietnamese businesses are increasingly exploiting free trade agreements more effectively... which has helped trade in goods continue to have a positive recovery trend, with high export turnover growth.

Currently, high inventories in markets are gradually being overcome, especially in key export markets such as the EU and the US. If the results achieved in the first half of the year can be maintained, this year the country's export turnover could set a new record of 380 billion USD, or even exceed this figure.
