Na Hang launched a campaign to collect trash on the lake bed on October 19.

Na Hang District People's Committee met to discuss the plan to collect garbage on the Tuyen Quang hydroelectric reservoir.

Recently, due to the impact of super typhoon Yagi, floods on the Gam River poured into Tuyen Quang Hydropower Reservoir, carrying a large amount of garbage into the reservoir. Garbage floated and covered the water surface in many areas of Da Vi, Nang Kha, Son Phu, Yen Hoa, Khau Tinh communes, and Na Hang town in an area of over 4,500 hectares of water surface. This situation not only affects waterway safety but also affects the image of local tourism .

Faced with this situation, the People's Committee of Na Hang district issued Document 1352/UBND-TNMT on strengthening sanitation, collection, transportation and treatment of waste in the Tuyen Quang hydropower reservoir area. At the same time, it launched a general environmental cleaning, collection and treatment of floating waste in the Tuyen Quang hydropower reservoir area on October 19.

At the meeting, delegates discussed and gave their opinions on the plan to organize the launching ceremony of the general environmental sanitation and the organization of the salvage and collection of garbage on the lake bed. Solutions for the collection and salvage of garbage on the lake bed must be implemented effectively, mobilizing resources and means to participate in the collection and dumping; and the plan for the treatment of garbage after collection.

Concluding the meeting, Chairman of Na Hang District People's Committee To Viet Hiep emphasized: The launching ceremony held on October 19 is an activity aimed at spreading awareness and responsibility of organizations and individuals about awareness and consciousness in environmental protection work in the district in general and the Tuyen Quang hydropower reservoir area in particular.

At the same time, prevent and minimize the impact of floating waste on the lake surface affecting the water source, landscape, and aesthetics of the Tuyen Quang hydroelectric reservoir area. The district will maintain a force to participate in the salvage; the collection cost will be used from socialized sources and support from the Vietnam Fatherland Front. The district has established a steering unit and at the same time implemented a pilot collection to have the most effective collection plan and method.
