On February 27, the Department of Education and Training of Quang Binh province said that, based on the advice of the Department, the People's Committee of Quang Binh province has approved the enrollment plan for grade 10 high school, grade 10 specialized high school, grade 10 ethnic boarding high school, and grade 10 continuing education in the province for the 2024-2025 school year.
Candidates for 10th grade high school entrance exam for the 2023-2024 school year
The biggest difference in this plan is that there will only be two subjects, literature and math, in the 10th grade entrance exam for the 2024-2025 school year, with a test time of 120 minutes for each subject, scheduled to take place on June 4, 2024.
Previously, from the 2023-2024 school year onwards, there were 3 subjects applied in the 10th grade entrance exam: literature, math, and English.
As for admission to grade 10 at Vo Nguyen Giap High School for the Gifted, the exams still include the following subjects: literature, math (each subject 120 minutes), English (60 minutes) and specialized subjects (150 minutes).
If the specialized subject is one of literature, math, or English, then for each subject, the candidate must take 2 exams, including 1 non-specialized exam and 1 specialized exam with a higher level of requirements.
In addition, candidates will be exempted from the English exam (general, not specialized) when taking the entrance exam to grade 10 at Vo Nguyen Giap High School for the Gifted and will be given the maximum score (10 points) for admission when candidates have one of the English certificates equivalent to level 3 or higher in the 6-level Foreign Language Proficiency Framework for Vietnam.
