On June 20, responding to information about the latest British bill, aiming to extend the sanctions against Russia until Moscow compensates the Kiev regime, the Russian Embassy in London stated: "From now on, among other things, the goal of the British actions violating basic international legal norms is to try to force our country to pay certain 'compensation' to the Kiev regime."

At the same time, this agency believes that the Ukraine conflict is an excuse for Western countries to impose illegal unilateral restrictive measures, targeting the development of the Russian economy and affecting the geopolitics of the birch country.

In addition, the Russian Embassy said that the bill would allow for the transfer of restrictive measures against Moscow to an “indefinite regime”. “The end of the conflict is no longer a sufficient condition for lifting restrictions. From now on, the criterion will be that (Russia must) repay the costs to Kiev and its Western creditors.”

Earlier, it was reported that the British government had drafted a law under which London could maintain sanctions against Russia until Moscow compensates Kiev.
