Artist Xuan Hinh has been identified with many titles: “King of Northern Comedy,” “King of Cheo Clowns,” “King of CDs and DVDs”… but when choosing a title for his autobiography, he humbly chose the name “Xuan Hinh - The Folk Laughter Maker.”

On July 26, the artist officially released his first and perhaps only book in his career, because as he confided: "Writing a book is really not easy, especially writing a book about your life."

The book is a sharing of a career spanning nearly five decades, focusing on traditional arts and theater culture rather than sensational love stories.

Over the years, he had received many offers to publish his memoirs and autobiographies, but he had refused them all for various reasons. Then, in 2024, the offer to write a book came again. At this time, he was no longer busy with work. His pace of life slowed down and he spent more time reflecting on the journey he had taken.

He is always concerned with the thought of how to pass on traditional arts to the younger generation. His ambition does not stop at instilling a love for traditional culture in the hearts of young people, but rather to train a generation of successors who are interested enough, love enough, and have the ability to develop and spread traditional culture to future generations.

“I have always cherished the idea of passing on my love and inspiration for folk culture to the younger generation. Therefore, this book and my future artistic activities are all to serve that pain. I hope that through my life and artistic journey recounted in this book, readers will understand and love our national culture more,” the artist confided.

He believes that for a true artist, to follow the path of art, besides natural talent, it is indispensable to cultivate, learn, and practice. Passion combined with knowledge and sharp artistic thinking will certainly lead to success. Therefore, he wants to send his enthusiasm to inspire young people who have, are, and will engage in performing arts activities in this book.

He hopes that this book will give him more motivation and experience to firmly pursue his passion, overcome temporary temptations to reach the pinnacle of his career./.

The book was published by the Writers Association Publishing House and TH Books, with 280 pages. The book is considered not noisy. It does not "sell life stories" but leaves a lasting impression - just like his roles on stage.
