On March 24, the Vietnam - Cambodia Friendship Association of Bac Giang province donated 50 million VND to support the construction of a house of gratitude for Mr. Vu Van Phang - a veteran with difficult circumstances in Doi Ma village, Ngoc Thien commune (Tan Yen district, Bac Giang province). This is the recognition and gratitude of the Vietnam - Cambodia Friendship Association to those who have contributed to fostering solidarity between the two nations.
In an old three-room house with cracked plaster walls built in 1982, Mr. Vu Van Phang (born in 1953) - a veteran and member of the Vietnam - Cambodia Friendship Association of Bac Giang province, quietly lives his old age with poor health and difficulty moving around. Mr. Phang's family is in difficult circumstances. His house in Doi Ma village, Ngoc Thien commune (Tan Yen district, Bac Giang province) is now seriously degraded, not ensuring safety for living, especially when the rainy and stormy season is approaching.
Faced with Mr. Phang’s difficult situation, the Vietnam-Cambodia Friendship Association of Bac Giang province provided him with a portion of the funding to rebuild his new house. On March 24, Mr. Le Van Hoan, Chairman of the Vietnam-Cambodia Friendship Association of Bac Giang province, presented VND50 million to support his family.

The house is expected to be built on an area of 75m², with brick walls, plastic ceilings, and corrugated iron roofs, with a total cost of 350 million VND. In addition to the support from the Vietnam - Cambodia Friendship Association of Bac Giang province, the Veterans Association of Bac Giang province supported 20 million VND, relatives in the family supported about 150 million VND, the rest was contributed by the family and local people contributed working days.
Speaking at the presentation ceremony, Mr. Le Van Hoan affirmed that this is not only a simple social security support activity but also a deep gratitude to those who have contributed to fostering the friendship between Vietnam and Cambodia. Veterans like Mr. Phang are living proof of the noble international sentiment, a bridge contributing to strengthening the traditional solidarity between the two countries.
The model of supporting the construction of charity houses for members is one of the practical activities maintained by the Vietnam - Cambodia Friendship Association at all levels for many years. Not only helping members in difficult circumstances stabilize their lives, the charity houses also carry a humane message about the morality of "remembering the source of drinking water" and "comradely affection".
