Woman asked to look after 5-day-old baby boy then "disappeared"

(Dan Tri) - A woman brought her baby boy to Phu My District Medical Center (Binh Dinh) and asked someone else to look after him so she could go out and get something, but that person "never returned".


On November 3, Mr. Phan Ngoc Tuan, Vice Chairman of Phu My Town People's Committee, Phu My District (Binh Dinh) confirmed that a baby boy was abandoned at Phu My District Medical Center.

According to Mr. Tuan, at around 2:30 p.m. on November 2, Ms. Ha Thi Minh (in Phu My town, Phu My district) was taking care of her sick child at Phu My district Medical Center when a woman carrying a baby boy about 5 days old, weighing 3kg, came to ask her to help look after him so she could go out to get something.

However, at around 4:00 p.m. the same day, when the woman did not return, Ms. Minh informed the medical staff of Phu My District Medical Center.

Upon receiving the information, Phu My District Medical Center came to check, the boy had no identification papers on him. The baby was wrapped in a large towel with the words Binh Dinh Provincial General Hospital printed on it.

The Vice Chairman of Phu My Town People's Committee also said that the Medical Center had extracted the camera but could not clearly see the woman's face.

"The baby is being cared for at Phu My District Medical Center and many people have come to adopt him. The local government is in the process of informing to find relatives. If there is no information within 7 days, the local government will carry out the relevant procedures, according to regulations," said Mr. Tuan.

Previously, on the evening of October 28, passersby discovered a baby girl about 3-4 months old abandoned in front of a resident's house in village 9, My Thang commune, Phu My district.

At the time of discovery, the newborn baby had no documents left by relatives. Immediately after that, the baby was taken to My Thang Commune Health Station for a health check, at the same time the local authorities notified to find the baby's relatives and related procedures.
