Quintuplets usually consist of both boys and girls. All-boys or all-girls births are even rarer, according to the Indian newspaper The Times of India.

Anita became pregnant and gave birth to five healthy children.

The mother in this story is Anita, 27, from Itkhori village, Chatra district, Jharkhand state (India). Because this was a rare birth of quintuplets, she received medical care and gave birth at a hospital of Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences in Ranchi city, also in Jharkhand state. The hospital is about 155 km away from Anita's village.

All five babies were delivered by cesarean section in the seventh month of pregnancy. Because they were born prematurely, doctors admitted the five babies to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) for care and health monitoring.

The health of both mother and baby is stable. In a media statement, Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences said that the person who delivered the baby was Dr. Shashi Bala Singh.

"Giving birth to quintuplets is a risky business. However, she was willing to give birth. It was a challenge for us. The caesarean section was successful, and both mother and baby are healthy," said Dr. Sigh.

Anita is very happy that all five children were born safely. However, she and her husband Prakash Sau make a living by selling fruits in the market. Therefore, she is looking for financial support from everyone to help her children have a proper education and upbringing.

The first recorded birth of quintuplets was in 1934 in Canada. They were the world's first five identical babies to survive after birth, according to The Times of India .
