The Zamzam camp for internally displaced people in Sudan's North Darfur state is facing a food shortage to treat malnutrition in children, the NGO Doctors Without Borders (MSF) said on August 4.

In a statement on social network X , MSF confirmed that its units only have enough therapeutic food to treat malnutrition in children at Zamzam camp, Sudan for two more weeks.
MSF added that it had to limit treatment because supply trucks were being held by the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF).
RSF says its forces protect aid convoys and are ready to cooperate with any aid agency. But MSF warns that without treatment, severely malnourished children risk dying within three to six weeks.
MSF said three trucks carrying medical supplies including treatment food destined for Zamzam and the city of El Fasher had been blocked by RSF in the Kabkabiya district of North Darfur state for more than a month.
According to information from MSF, the malnutrition ward's bed occupancy rate was 126% and many children were in critical condition.
