Le Khanh Hung is the champion of the 32nd SEA Games in the men's singles. The 15-year-old athlete created a shock when he became the first Vietnamese golfer to win a gold medal at the Games. Unfortunately, due to personal reasons and also to prepare for a long-term career, Le Khanh Hung did not participate in the national championship.
The 2023 National Golf Championship is scheduled to open on August 8 with the participation of 154 athletes, including 31 female athletes and 123 male athletes. Le Khanh Hung did not participate, but the tournament still had top athletes in the men's category such as Nguyen Anh Minh, Nguyen Dang Minh, Nguyen Nhat Long, Truong Chi Quan, or Doan Xuan Khue Minh, Le Chuc An, Ngo Bao Nghi, Nguyen Thao My in the women's category.

At the award announcement ceremony, Doan Xuan Khue Minh - a golfer who has not yet participated in ASIAD 19 - shared: " Vinpearl Hai Phong golf course is well prepared. I have been familiar with the course since last year, so today's practice session is for me to get used to the atmosphere of Hai Phong city. This year, the tournament has the participation of professional and amateur athletes. Therefore, the competition is very high. I set a goal to surpass myself ".
Meanwhile, golfer Nguyen Nhat Long is trying to surpass himself in this year's tournament. He is also one of the 7 athletes participating in the ASIAD this September.
The prize money for the 2023 national golf championship is 1.2 billion VND. Of which, 1 billion VND is for the men's division and 200 million VND for the women's division. The tournament will be held at Vinpearl Golf Hai Phong (Vu Yen, Hai Phong City) from August 8-11.
The 2023 National Golf Championship - VinFast Cup takes place in stroke play format over four (4) rounds of 18 holes (total 72 holes) on the Marsh Course at the Vinpearl Golf Hai Phong golf and resort complex.
For the men's division, after 36 holes, there will be a cut and only the top 40 players and ties will be allowed to continue. For the women's division, after 36 holes, there will be a cut and only the top 12 players and ties will be allowed to continue. The winner of each division is the player with the lowest gross score at the end of the tournament in that division.
