Musician Nguyen Cuong.

On the evening of April 13, the musical play Dam San's Aspiration (author - musician Nguyen Cuong) will be performed at the Workers' Theater.

Musician Nguyen said that the musical Khat Vong Dam San was staged based on the epic Dam San - one of the typical works, a literary genre created from the rich, romantic, and soaring imagination of the Ede people in the Central Highlands in ancient times. It took him 40 years to bring the epic about Dam San to the stage in the form of a musical.

According to musician Nguyen Cuong, compared to the 8 chapters of the epic poem The Song of Dam San , the opera Khat Vong Dam San is shortened in structure and has many creative points, even completely opposite to the original.

Writer Hong Hoa, screenwriter of Dam San's Desire, explained: "We did not adapt the epic poem The Song of Dam San . We only relied on the original and emphasized the tragic and heroic qualities of Dam San. I wanted Dam San to go find the Sun Goddess for the sake of the village and return for the sake of the village."

Therefore, screenwriter Hong Hoa wrote the script for Dam San's Desire with new details, praising the beauty of human love in harmony with nature, especially praising the aspirations and romantic yet heroic beauty of the Ede people in the Central Highlands.
