The match between Iraq and Jordan in the 1/8 round of the 2023 Asian Cup was extremely dramatic. Jordan took a 1-0 lead thanks to Yazan Al-Naimat in the 45+1 minute. In the second half, Iraq scored two consecutive goals in the 68th and 76th minutes to take a 2-1 lead.

It is worth mentioning that after scoring to raise the score to 2-1 for Iraq, number one striker Aymen Hussein received a second yellow card and was sent off. The reason was because this player had an inappropriate celebration.

Aymen Hussein ran to the home team's stand, sat cross-legged and put his hands to his mouth. It seemed that the Iraqi player wanted to respond to the celebration of the entire Jordan team after scoring a goal in the first half.

After opening the score, the entire Jordanian team also sat together with their hands on their mouths to imitate the Muslim eating gesture. According to the expert's explanation, Aymen Hussein "made a mistake" in his celebration.

Accordingly, Jordanian players simulated the act of eating with their right hands, but Aymen Hussein used his... left hand. This is against Muslim rules.

According to Muslim beliefs, the left hand is unclean and the right hand should only be used for sacred purposes. Therefore, as predicted, the referee penalized Aymen Hussein for this foul.

Another prediction is that the Iraqi striker received a second yellow card for celebrating too long (thus wasting time). The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) has not explained the reason for Aymen Hussein's punishment.

Playing with 10 men in the final minutes caused Iraq to collapse. In the 90+5 minute, Yazan Alarab scored the equalizer for Jordan, making it 2-2. Not stopping there, in the 90+7 minute, Nizar Mahmoud scored the final goal, making it 3-2 for Jordan.
