DNVN - Minister of Planning and Investment Nguyen Chi Dung emphasized that the solutions, directions, and tasks set out in the Report on the Assessment of 5 Years of Implementation of the "10-Year Socio-Economic Development Strategy 2021-2030", the directions and tasks for socio-economic development in the 5-year period 2026-2030 must have breakthrough thinking, innovation, and a high spirit of striving.
Opening the seminar "Exchange and discussion on the draft Socio- Economic Report to be submitted to the 14th National Congress of the Party" on November 14, Minister of Planning and Investment Nguyen Chi Dung emphasized the solutions, directions and tasks set out in the Report on the assessment of 5 years of implementing the 10-year Socio-Economic Development Strategy 2021-2030, and directions and tasks for socio -economic development in the 5-year period 2026-2030.
Accordingly, these solutions, directions, and tasks must have breakthrough thinking, innovation, and a high spirit of striving. The goal is not only to make Vietnam a developing country with modern industry and high average income by 2030, but also to create an important foundation to realize the goal of becoming a developed country with high income by 2045. In particular, an important content is to achieve a high economic growth rate and maintain it in the long term.

The Minister of Planning and Investment said that the directions and tasks in the coming period will continue to promote the implementation of three strategic breakthroughs in institutional perfection; infrastructure development; human resource development, science and technology, innovation and promoting cultural values and Vietnamese people.
In particular, pay special attention to institutional breakthroughs, considering this as “the breakthrough of breakthroughs”. It is necessary to create a breakthrough in development thinking, building institutions and laws to liberate all productive forces, unleash all resources; promote decentralization. At the same time, streamline the apparatus, mobilize and use resources, develop dynamic regions, economic corridors, develop the private economy, expand the market, etc.
Opinions at the seminar highly appreciated the efforts of the Ministry of Planning and Investment - the standing agency of the Editorial Board of the Economic - Social Subcommittee in synthesizing, building and perfecting the draft documents of the 14th National Congress of the Party, which are comprehensive and complete with many new points and breakthrough contents. Delegates hope that in the coming time, there will be strong breakthrough mechanisms and policies, suitable to the characteristics of the fields of science, technology and innovation so that science and technology can truly become an important driving force for national development.
