Efforts to provide students with friendly toilets and drinking water at the tap

GD&TĐ - Leaders of Dai Thanh commune (Hanoi) set a goal that public school students in the area will be able to use drinking water from the tap and have friendly toilets.

On the afternoon of July 30, the People's Committee of Dai Thanh Commune ( Hanoi City) held a conference to review 1 month of local government operations and key directions and tasks for 2025. The meeting was chaired by Mr. Nguyen Van Hung - Chairman of the People's Committee of the Commune; Mr. Pham Van Ngát and Mr. Nguyen Manh Hien - Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of the Commune.

Dai Thanh commune was established on the basis of merging most of the natural area and population of the communes: Huu Hoa, Ta Thanh Oai, Vinh Quynh, Tam Hiep; part of Van Dien town (old Thanh Tri district); part of Kien Hung ward (old Ha Dong district).

Regarding the field of Education and Training, Chairman of Dai Thanh Commune People's Committee Nguyen Van Hung emphasized that it is expected that at the upcoming 1st Commune Party Congress, term 2025-2030, the Commune Party Committee will include in the resolution the goal of 100% of public schools in the area having drinking water from the tap and friendly toilets.

Dai Thanh Commune has received and appointed managers of schools in the area.

"For a long time, we have provided drinking water for students to use at schools. In the future, we will plan and utilize various resources to strive for students in public schools in the area to use drinking water from the tap, with hot and cold water. The toilets must be clean, with adequate sound, light, and fans," Mr. Hung analyzed.

The leaders of Dai Thanh commune determined that after the merger, there are not many staff with professional qualifications in the field of Education. To ensure the quality of education, four factors are needed: Facilities, staff, socio -economics , and people's attention.

Recently, the commune government has reviewed the facilities in schools in the area such as: desks and chairs, electrical systems, lighting, school equipment and proposed plans to supplement and overcome. At the same time, the commune has reviewed the school network according to the planning to classify the number of students, especially in the two areas of Ta Thanh Oai and Vinh Quynh.

"In the near future, we will develop a project to build a high-quality primary - secondary - high school with 68 classrooms and submit it to the competent authority for approval of the planning, aiming for the first quarter of 2026. This is expected to create a boost in the development of key education and regional enrollment," Mr. Nguyen Van Hung informed.

According to Mr. Hung, in schools, teachers and principals need to change their thinking, awareness, actions and methods of directing and working effectively. One of the criteria for annual emulation evaluation is to pay attention to teachers' lives - only then will teachers be dedicated. The commune also established a group of core teachers to professionally direct schools.

From July 1 to now, the commune's public administrative service point has received 2,489 administrative procedure files, completed 2,460 files (reaching 98.8%), 92 files are being processed. In the coming time, the Education Department of Dai Thanh commune will implement the Project on teaching and learning foreign languages at primary and secondary schools; plan to re-accredit national standards in 2025; direct schools to well implement the opening of the new school year 2025-2026...
