Implementing the 2024 Land Law, the Planning Law and Resolution No. 174/2024/QH15 dated November 30, 2024 of the National Assembly, the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment shall preside over and coordinate with ministries, branches and localities to organize investigations, surveys and complete the dossier to adjust the National Land Use Planning for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050. Accordingly, the agricultural land group including: Rice land, protective forest land, production forest land, annual crop land, perennial crop land, aquaculture land, concentrated livestock land, salt-making land is adjusted to 2030 at over 26 million hectares; the non-agricultural land group including: National defense land, security land is adjusted to over 5.8 million hectares. By 2050, land resources will be arranged, allocated and used effectively, meeting the goal of comprehensively and synchronously promoting industrialization and modernization and becoming a developed, high-income country.

Concluding the meeting, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha emphasized: Land is an extremely valuable resource and means of production, requiring the adjustment and establishment of land use planning to meet the strategic goals of stable and long-term socio-economic development. On that basis, the Deputy Prime Minister requested ministries, branches and localities to provide information, documents, data, maps; update the situation of land management and use and the list of works and projects for the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment to synthesize and complete the adjustment of the National Land Use Planning for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050 in accordance with the procedures and regulations of current laws. The process of making and adjusting the planning needs to fully analyze and evaluate favorable factors, reasonably distribute land resources, promote equitable development among regions, especially in remote areas, remote areas, and areas with difficult economic conditions. Strive to speed up progress, ensure timely content to report to the Politburo for comments and submit to the National Assembly for consideration at the 9th session this year.
