
The Quang Ngai - Hoai Nhon Expressway has a total investment of about 20,400 billion VND, started construction in early 2023, with Project Management Board 2 as the investor, and the construction contractor led by the Deo Ca Group consortium.

The project has a total length of 88km, passing through Quang Ngai (60.3km) and Gia Lai (27.7km) provinces. This is the largest project among the 12 component projects.

A representative of Deo Ca Group said the contractor is speeding up progress, ensuring the project is completed on time (end of 2025).

On the route, there are 3 tunnels through the mountain including tunnel No. 1, 610m long, tunnel No. 2, 698m long and tunnel No. 3, 3,200m long, along with 77 bridges, 586 culverts, and 81 underpasses for people.

Currently, 50/50 construction teams are being deployed at the site with about 3,100 personnel and 1,150 pieces of equipment. The total output to date has reached about 10,000 billion VND, equivalent to 75% of the total volume.

Workers worked through the night on the Quang Ngai - Hoai Nhon highway, racing against time to complete the project.

Regarding the road, the crushed stone construction has reached about 99%, and the asphalt paving stage has been carried out for nearly 70km. According to the plan, the asphalt concrete construction is expected to be completed in September. The production and assembly of traffic safety components has reached about 95% of the output.

There are 77 bridges on the route, all bridges have completed the substructure and girder casting work, 76 bridges have completed girder installation and are constructing the bridge deck.

Regarding the tunnel category, up to now, tunnels No. 1 and No. 2 have completed the construction and installation of electromechanical equipment. Tunnel No. 3 has a length of 3,200m, the road surface width is 12.75m/tunnel, of which the Right tunnel (North - South direction) was dug and cleared on April 28, 2025, 6 months ahead of schedule. The Left tunnel was dug and cleared on June 28, 2025. After the tunnel was dug and cleared, the contractor continued to dig the foundation, concrete the tunnel lining, concrete the road surface... according to the plan to complete the concrete lining of 2 tunnels in October, install equipment and complete tunnel No. 3 by the end of December 2025, 8 months ahead of schedule compared to the contract signed with the investor.
