Both her father and mother are soldiers working at the Military Command of Quang Tri province. Since childhood, Le Thi Thao Nhi (residing in Quarter 2, Ward 3, Dong Ha City) has loved the green uniform of Uncle Ho's soldiers and nurtured the dream of continuing the family tradition.

In 2015, when Thao Nhi was in 7th grade and her brother was in 11th grade, a major incident struck the family, the father passed away suddenly due to a serious illness.

Difficulties piled up on difficulties when the mother, Major Nguyen Thi Ha (medical staff, General Staff, Quang Tri Province Military Command), had to raise two young children alone, while she herself had a heart disease and was undergoing long-term treatment.

Understanding the family situation, losing their father at a young age, and feeling sorry for their mother who was often sick, Thao Nhi and her siblings have always tried to study hard and helped their mother with all the family chores. After graduating from high school, the eldest brother Le Duc Hung was determined to study hard and passed the exam to enter the Engineering Officer School, currently holding the position of Deputy Company Commander, Engineering Company, General Staff Department, Quang Tri Province Military Command.

This year, having just graduated from university, Thao Nhi also volunteered to join the army. "The family is very happy and proud that our daughter was selected for military service . We hope that our daughter will maintain her courage, make more efforts to be able to train, adapt to the new environment soon, and promote the family tradition," Major Nguyen Thi Ha shared.

In the early days of spring, when visiting Major Ha's family, everyone felt the warm joy spreading throughout the small house. This year, her family received great joy when her daughter Thao Nhi prepared to leave for military service.

Thao Nhi shared more about her decision: "Born into a military family, I have been somewhat familiar with and aware of the difficulties and hardships of soldiers since I was young. Being in the military environment is a great honor for me. I will strive to study and train to not disappoint my family's expectations and wish to continue the family tradition and serve in the military for a long time."

In just a few days, Thao Nhi will leave for military service. Although she knows that the military environment for female recruits will have many difficulties and hardships ahead, with the care of her superiors, the encouragement of her relatives and family tradition, Thao Nhi is ready with the best mentality for the day of enlistment.
