Rapid floodwaters break Ninh Cuong pontoon bridge in Nam Dinh

This evening (September 11), the leader of the Ninh Cuong pontoon bridge management board said that the bridge had just broken due to the flood on the Ninh Co river rising above alert level 3, with strong currents. The unit is quickly handling the incident and securing the bridge more securely.

Since the morning of September 10, Ninh Cuong pontoon bridge has stopped operating due to rapid flood water and strong currents that do not ensure safe operation.

Normally, about 9,000 vehicles pass through this bridge every day. The bridge is 297m long, the total width of the buoy is 8.4m, and the girder is 3.5m.

According to the Nam Dinh Province Hydrometeorological Station, at 2:30 p.m. today, the water level on the Ninh Co River at Truc Phuong station was 3.7m, 1.1m above alert level 3. The water level at Truc Phuong station peaked at 1:30 p.m. at 3.71m.
