The Board of Directors (BOD) of the Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Foreign Trade of Vietnam ( Vietcombank , stock code: VCB) has just announced a series of resolutions to adjust senior personnel. The Board of Directors of Vietcombank appointed Mr. Nguyen Thanh Tung, a member of the Board of Directors for the 2023-2028 term and General Director, to hold the position of Chairman of the Board of Directors for the 2023-2028 term from July 26 until the end of the 2023-2028 term. Mr. Tung will also cease to hold the position of General Director here. Mr. Tung was born in 1974, graduated from Foreign Trade University, majoring in foreign trade economics and University of Foreign Languages and Literature, majoring in English, and has a master's degree in economics , Paris Dauphine University/ESCP.

Mr. Tung has worked at Vietcombank since 1997 as an officer of the International Credit Department - Vietcombank Head Office. After nearly 4 years, he became Secretary of the Executive Board and Secretary of the Board of Directors of Vietcombank Head Office. By the end of 2004, Mr. Tung was appointed Deputy Chief of Office and Secretary of the Board of Directors of Vietcombank Head Office. From the beginning of 2008, Mr. Tung was appointed Chief of Office of Vietcombank. By mid-2013, he was Deputy Director of Vietcombank Transaction Office Branch. After that, he successively held the positions of Acting Director, Director of Vietcombank Tay Ho Branch, Director of Corporate Customer Department at the Head Office, Director of Wholesale Department and Director of Corporate Customer Department at the Head Office. In April 2019, he was promoted to Deputy General Director in charge of Wholesale Department and from August 2021, Deputy General Director in charge of the Executive Board. He was appointed General Director of Vietcombank from January 30, 2024. At the same time, Vietcombank's Board of Directors also appointed Mr. Le Quang Vinh - Deputy General Director to hold the position of Deputy General Director in charge of the Executive Board from July 26 until the bank completes the position of General Director. In addition, Vietcombank also dismissed Mr. Do Viet Hung from the position of Member in charge of the Board of Directors for the 2023-2028 term because Mr. Nguyen Thanh Tung was appointed as Chairman of the Board of Directors. Mr. Hung continues to be a member of the Board of Directors for the 2023-2028 term.
