China Central Television (CCTV) reported today, January 17, that Mr. Han will attend Mr. Trump's upcoming inauguration event on January 20 in Washington DC at the invitation of the US side, according to Reuters.

“We are willing to strengthen dialogue and communication with the new US government , properly control differences, expand mutually beneficial cooperation, and jointly promote the stable, healthy and sustainable development of China-US relations,” CCTV reported.
“China has always viewed and developed China-US relations according to the principles of mutual respect, peaceful coexistence and win-win cooperation,” CCTV stressed.
China is ready to “find the right way for China and the US to get along in the new era,” according to CCTV.
On January 6, President-elect Trump said he and Chinese President Xi Jinping had communicated through representatives, expressing optimism about the bilateral relationship, according to Reuters.
However, Mr. Trump also nominated many China hardliners to key positions in his upcoming administration, including Senator Marco Rubio as secretary of state.
Mr. Trump also said he would impose an additional 10% tariff on Chinese goods if Beijing did not do more to stop the trafficking of the highly addictive drug fentanyl. He had threatened to impose tariffs of more than 60% on Chinese goods during the election campaign, according to Reuters.
