In a statement posted on Truth Social, Donald Trump applauded reality TV star Sean Duffy's relationship with Congress and expressed his confidence in his ability to rebuild the country's infrastructure. Donald Trump added that Sean Duffy will " enhance the travel experience for all Americans!"
If confirmed, Sean Duffy would take over the agency that oversees the safety of Americans on roads, rail, buses, planes and the transport of hazardous materials. In addition, he would have to deal with a string of runway crashes across the country, aging aviation equipment and an overburdened air traffic controller workforce.

Despite criticizing President-elect Donald Trump in the past, Sean Duffy was eventually nominated for the position of US Secretary of Transportation. Sean Duffy once told Fox News that the debt ceiling deal that Donald Trump agreed to with the Democrats during the previous term was " bad", "stupid " and " failed to achieve its goals".
Sean Duffy is currently the host of “The Bottom Line,” a show on Fox Business . He has criticized electric cars on Fox News and is likely to disagree with billionaire Elon Musk, whom Donald Trump highly values.
The nominee for US Secretary of Transportation also criticized EV trucks as unsuitable for driving in rural areas. Despite these issues, Mr. Trump praised Sean Duffy's experience as a congressman, saying that it was a time when he had " a voice and respect in the Republican Conference."
Sean Duffy was elected to the United States Congress in 2010, serving on the House Finance Committee, the Budget Committee, and the Economic Committee.
