Launching the 1st Smart City Microchip Design Competition in 2023

In order to promote the development of the field of microchip design in Vietnam, create a premise for the Internet of Things technology platform and build Ho Chi Minh City into a sustainable smart city, on the morning of November 25, Ho Chi Minh City High-Tech Park officially launched the "1st Microchip Design for Smart Cities Competition, 2023".

The competition will be held from November 2023 to June 2024, chaired by the Management Board of Ho Chi Minh City High-Tech Park. Ho Chi Minh City Youth Union, Ho Chi Minh City Department of Information and Communications, Ho Chi Minh City Department of Science and Technology and Ho Chi Minh City National University will coordinate with the organizing units.

The contest is held for all students and trainees nationwide who are passionate about microchip design.

The competition is open to all students at universities, colleges and academies nationwide who are passionate about microchip design. The organizers also encourage creative ideas, projects and research topics that are highly applicable to practice. Thereby, contributing to the mission of making Ho Chi Minh City High-Tech Park a core foundation, with the goal of Vietnam becoming the world 's microchip design center.

Mr. Le Quoc Cuong, Deputy Head of the Management Board of Ho Chi Minh City High-Tech Park, said that the city has established a microelectronics and semiconductor center, the first center in the country, with cooperation with large enterprises, with the goal of training human resources to meet the needs of the country.

The microchip industry is the core of the electronics industry, so for the country to develop, it is necessary to master microchip and semiconductor technology. He is very proud that Ho Chi Minh City is the first place to design and manufacture microchips in the country.
