Launching campaign to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses

On March 10, in Bac Tra My district, Quang Nam province, the Provincial Steering Committee for Eliminating Temporary and Dilapidated Houses held a ceremony to launch the Peak Month for Eliminating Temporary and Dilapidated Houses in the province.

Attending the launching ceremony were Mr. Luong Nguyen Minh Triet, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Steering Committee for Eliminating Temporary and Dilapidated Houses in the Province; Mr. Le Tri Thanh, Chairman of the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, Permanent Deputy Head of the Provincial Steering Committee; Ms. Huynh Thi Thuy Dung, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department, along with leaders of departments, branches, unions and leaders of 9 mountainous districts of Quang Nam province.

Speaking at the launching ceremony, Mr. Le Tri Thanh, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Quang Nam province, said that after the Provincial Party Committee issued Directive No. 25, dated March 31, 2022 on strengthening the Party's leadership in the work of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses in the province, with "high determination, great efforts, practical and effective actions", up to now, the whole province of Quang Nam has had more than 5,600 houses invested in new construction or repair.

In recent times, armed forces units, union members, youths have joined hands to contribute tens of thousands of working days, demonstrating responsibility and gratitude, "loving others as you love yourself", contributing to bringing warm homes to people affected by natural disasters, fires, and climate change;...

At the launching ceremony, the Steering Committee for the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses in Quang Nam province called on all levels and sectors to be more resolute, specific and responsible in order to complete the set goals. In particular, effectively integrating resources, especially national target programs, continuing to thoroughly review the entire area with the requirement of "3 nos" (no wrong subjects, no omission of subjects, no complaints or lawsuits).

The Provincial Steering Committee assigned the armed forces and the Provincial Youth Union to support human resources to demolish 166 houses in the districts of Nam Tra My, Bac Tra My, Phuoc Son, Tay Giang and Dong Giang. In addition to the budget allocated according to regulations, some units also mobilized additional resources. Of which, the Provincial Youth Union mobilized an additional 50 tons of cement and 50,000 bricks. The Provincial Police mobilized more than 5 billion VND.

On this occasion, the Provincial Steering Committee for Eliminating Temporary and Dilapidated Houses awarded 60 million VND to each household that was supported to build a new house, namely Mr. Vo Ngoc Minh and Mr. Dinh Van Lanh, Bac Tra My District. In addition, the Provincial Youth Union and the Provincial Police, the two units assigned by the Provincial Steering Committee to support human resources for house building, also mobilized some additional resources and conditions for the two households to build a more decent house.
