The film Sleeping City by director Luong Dinh Dung tells the story of a lonely man living in the middle of a bustling city. His life changes completely when a group of thugs take a girl to hide in the abandoned house where he lives.

Conflicts arise from there, creating conditions for the young man's true nature to emerge. The film predicts the chaos of humanity, when goodness is pushed to the limit, creating an opportunity for hidden evil to be awakened.

The movie has many haunting scenes.

The movie has many haunting scenes.

The film will be released to audiences on October 13 at cinemas nationwide. Belonging to the dark crime genre, with elements of gruesome violence that very few Vietnamese films exploit, Sleeping City is labeled 18+.

Before its release to domestic audiences , Sleepy City was nominated for the Grand Prix for Best Feature Film at the 25th TallinnBlacknights Film Festival (top 14 A-class Film Festivals), and was selected in the Soul of Asia category at the 50th International Film Festival of India (IFFI) (GOA).

The film was also selected in the Panorama Category - 49th FNCDuneuvu Film Festival, Canada and nominated for the Netpac Award - 26th Kolkata International Film Festival (India).

"Sleepy City" is labeled 18+.

When shown abroad, the film shocked the jury members and the audience because of its nakedly deep images of human psychology. For audiences who love the language of cinema and demand a film with many layers of meaning, Sleepy City will be an engaging film filled with fear and brutality.

According to the producer, after being released in Vietnam, the film will be sold to international markets.
