Up to now, PTVN has had 30 years of accompanying and actively contributing to Quang Tri province in overcoming the consequences of war, promoting socio-economic development and poverty reduction of the locality, and being a bridge of friendship between international friends and the people of Quang Tri.

Currently, PTVN is cooperating with Quang Tri province to implement the project "Searching and handling bombs, mines and explosives to minimize hazards and support the socio-economic development plan of Quang Tri province, phase X (2021 - 2025)" with a total committed budget of 14.5 million USD.

The total disbursed budget of PTVN for Quang Tri province from 1996 to present is more than 19 million USD. The committed budget to continue funding until March 2026 is 5.5 million USD.

At the reception, Ms. Mary Claire Yunker thanked Quang Tri province for its attention, support and companionship with PTVN organization in the process of implementing local projects in the past time.

At the same time, we hope to hear your comments and directions for PTVN's activities in Quang Tri in the coming time. It is expected that in September 2025, PTVN will coordinate with the Department of Foreign Affairs to organize the 30th anniversary of its operations in the province.

Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Hoang Nam emphasized: PTVN projects implemented in the province have brought practical results in the fields of: clearance and handling of bombs, mines and explosives; education on bomb and mine awareness; support for victims; support for post-clearance development; tree planting and friendly visits. Highly agreed with the organization of the 30th anniversary of PTVN's operations in the province.

At the same time, the delegation was informed about the results achieved by Quang Tri province in organizing the Festival for Peace in the past year. The Provincial People's Committee agreed to pilot the "Safe Province" criteria set in the province in 2025 to implement the 2021-2025 action plan of the Provincial Steering Committee for overcoming the consequences of post-war bombs and mines.

The "Safe Province" criteria set helps post-war bombs and mines after 2035 to be managed and controlled systematically and effectively, and no longer have a major impact on the people and government of Quang Tri province to promote development.

Support operating costs for the mobile explosive ordnance disposal (EOD) team of the Provincial Military Command. Continue to have post-clearance development support programs and increase the scale of support for schools, scholarships for students... as sponsored in the past.
