This workshop is a practical activity to improve the level and skills of identifying and handling intellectual property infringements for the market management force of Hanoi city. At the same time, this is also an opportunity for functional forces, businesses and consumer rights protection organizations to exchange, share experiences and coordinate more closely in preventing and combating counterfeit goods and goods that infringe intellectual property rights.

According to the Hanoi Market Management Department, in the first 6 months of 2025, the situation of smuggling, production and trading of counterfeit goods and goods infringing intellectual property rights continued to have many complicated developments. Notably, violators are increasingly sophisticated, taking full advantage of cyberspace, e-commerce, express delivery services, and even disguising warehouses in residential areas to conceal illegal activities.

Counterfeit goods not only appear in traditional markets, but also spread widely in the digital space, where just one click can "support" illegal acts.

Also according to statistics, during the peak period of implementing the Prime Minister 's Official Dispatch No. 65/CD-TTg, the city's market management force inspected 560 cases, handled 542 violations, and seized a large quantity of cosmetics, functional foods, clothes, shoes, etc. counterfeiting protected trademarks, with a total value of infringing goods reaching tens of billions of VND.

In particular, the number of cases transferred to the investigation agency increased by more than 233% compared to the same period in 2024, showing the serious, organized and large-scale nature of the violations.

Representatives of the Association for Anti-Counterfeiting and Protection of Intellectual Property Rights of foreign-invested enterprises in Vietnam also shared their experiences in distinguishing genuine and counterfeit goods through identification marks, the use of traceability technology and real-life situations. Enterprises are ready to help market management forces with technical information and characteristic images to identify counterfeit goods more quickly and accurately.

Deputy Head of the Hanoi Market Management Department Duong Manh Hung said that the Hanoi Market Management Department will continue to strengthen supervision and inspection, and at the same time, warn people, contributing to building a transparent business environment and healthy competition.
